Volumen especial/Special Issue of Letras Femeninas

CALL FOR SPECIAL ISSUE PROPOSALS

The editor of Letras Femeninas welcomes proposals for the Summer 2015 Special Issue. Proposals should be sent by e-mail to Carmen de Urioste (carmen.urioste@asu.edu, carmen.urioste@me.com and letras@me.com). They should contain the following information:

• Draft outlining the topic and content of the proposed special issue (up to 200 words);
• Editorial Committee for the special issue. Proposed members of the editorial committee must have agreed to serve before the proposal is submitted and must be good standing AILCFH members. There should be enough reviewers to allow at least two reviews of each paper;
• Name, telephone, and e-mail of the contact person;
• Language: Spanish and/or English

Due date to receive proposals: January 15, 2014

The proposals for the Special Issue will be evaluated by the AILCFH Executive Committee. A decision will be made by February 1, 2014. The Special Issue final materials must be submitted to Letras Femeninas by February 1, 2015. Technical details will be shared with the special editor upon approval of the proposal.

Contributors to the Special Issue must be members of the AILCFH. The editor of Letras Femeninas reserves the right to reject Special Issue papers, should they be considered inappropriate for publication in the journal

Liberia
Liberia- Hispanic Journal of Cultural Criticism is looking for submissions. The journal aims to promote the debate of contemporary Hispanic culture. We encourage the submission of texts conceived at the crossroads of theoretical inquiry and cultural production. We accept articles, book reviews, and interviews for submission in Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan and English. Revista Liberia will be publishing its second issue in May of 2014. Our second issue aims to discuss contemporary Latina American and Spanish cultural productions in a manner that takes into consideration transatlantic relations in its scope of research and analysis. Topics such as trade, borderlands, violence, suffrage, social movements, and national and post national identities are particularly sought after. We are also accepting open topic essays, reviews, and interviews. Deadline for submission is February 1, 2014. Please send to http://www.revistaliberia.org.

Ámbitos Feministas
An annual peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal of criticism pertinent to current feminist issues in Spanish, Spanish-American, Luso-Brazilian, Afro-Latin American, Caribbean, U.S. Hispanic and Latino Studies. http://ambitosfeministas.feministas-unidas.org

As the official journal of the coalition Feministas Unidas Inc. (http://feministas-unidas.org), Ámbitos Feministas’ objective is to provide a new niche for feminist scholarship on current women writers and artists from Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Latin America and the USA Latino World. With the support of an editorial board whose members have been selected for their highly regarded scholarship, representative of the different areas of the journal; or their prominence as writers, Ámbitos Feministas aims to foster critical exchanges on the current status of feminist studies in relationship to the creative work by contemporary Hispanic, Iberian, Luso and USA Latino women.

The College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, with 10,000 students and 750 faculty members, is the largest of the University of Virginia’s 11 schools and is the institution’s intellectual core. We aspire to be a leader in research and graduate education while maintaining our long-standing reputation for excellence in undergraduate education and exceptional teaching.

The UVa Arts & Sciences Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese invites applicants for a tenured position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor of Spanish. The appointment begins August 25, 2014. Field of specialization is 20th and 21st -century Latin American Literature and Culture, subfield of specialization open. Outstanding scholarship with a superior record of scholarly publications, evidence of excellent teaching, and commitment to interdisciplinary work are required. The successful candidate must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and must hold a Ph.D. in the relevant field. We are looking for a colleague who will participate actively and fully in both the undergraduate and graduate programs in the department.
