1) The Spanish program in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University invites applications for a one-year non-tenure track visiting assistant professor in Spanish Golden Age Literature and Culture to begin in August 2011. Successful candidate will demonstrate an active record of research and publication in some aspect of Golden Age literature and cultural studies and excellence in teaching. Teaching duties will include three courses per semester, including undergraduate and Master's-level in Golden Age with ties to Spanish Medieval literature and culture. Ideal candidate will demonstrate innovative approaches. Areas strongly considered include but are not limited to: transatlantic discourse, performance theory, or gender studies. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish. Ph.D. preferred; ABD considered.
