	Estimada membresía, En esta circular encontrarán la convocatoria al número especial de Letras Femeninas verano del 2013 y una convocatoria de Feministas Unidas a participar en un panel del MLA. 1. CONVOCATORIA DE CONTRIBUCIONES PARA EL NÚMERO ESPECIAL VERANO 2013 LETRAS FEMENINAS (FEMENINAS.ORG) - AILCFH (AILCFH.ORG) Mujer y ciudad Se hace un llamado de colaboraciones para número monográfico de Letras femeninas dedicado al tema de mujer y ciudad en América Latina, España y Estados Unidos latino. Se parte del conjunto de premisas de que la ciudad es el foro donde la mujer más eficazmente ha perseguido la concreción de sus derechos civiles y sociales, de que la ciudad ofrece instituciones y foros en particular valiosos para el desarrollo de la cultura de la mujer, de que la ciudad constituye un proyecto masculinista y heterosexista que convida a su deconstrucción por la cultura femenina y, por extensión, la cultura lésbica y queer y de que la ciudad ofrece un amplio panorama para la exhibición crítica de la cultura de la mujer. Se solicitan ensayos que compartan estas premisas y otras vinculadas con ellas, con la insistencia de que se formulen propuestas de investigación que trasciendan el énfasis convencional en autoras y obras, para enfocarse en términos más analíticos y sintéticos en temas de implicancia general, especialmente en lo que a insinuar futuras investigaciones se refiere. Se incluirán ensayos que no se limiten solamente a los países hispanohablantes y al USA latino, sino que se incorporarán las letras femeninas de Portugal y del Brasil también. Algunos temas a considerar bajo nuevas aportaciones podrían ser: • Literatura urbana escrita por mujeres • La iconografía de la ciudad y la representación visual • Exilios de mujeres/ migraciones en el contexto urbano • La cultura de consumo promovido por la ciudad • La cultura visual femenino/feminista urbana • Cine de mujer y ciudad • Sexualidades urbanas • La mujer y la prostitución en el espacio urbano • Víctimas posmodernas desde la cultura urbana • Clichés mediáticos y literatura femenina • Nuevas teologías del cuerpo y el espacio urbano • Las indígenas incorporación/ desplazamiento/debates en la ciudad • Redes sociales urbanas y mujeres • Pobreza/ violencia/ caos en el contexto urbano • La ciudad como foro de independencia de la mujer Enviar las propuestas a : David William, editor invitado (david.foster@asu.edu) Regents’ Professor of Spanish and Women and Gender Studies Arizona State University Comité de selección: Cynthia Tompkins (Arizona State University), Marina Pérez de Mendiola (Scripps College) Fechas importantes • Propuestas (abstracts con alguna bibliografía): 10 de junio 2012 • Los ensayos seleccionados deberán enviarse completos: 5 de enero 2013 • Para que su propuesta sea considerada deberá ser miembro de AILFCH . 2. CFP: MLA 2013 Boston, January 2013. Feministas Unidas Female Migration representations: Hispano and Latina Women Crossing Over This panel organized by Feministas Unidas (http://feministas-unidas.org) aims to explore different perspectives and interpretations of migration in literature and film by contemporary Hispanic and Latina women. From the perspective of the twenty-first century we see changes not only in the regulation and character of external and internal migrations, but also in the literary and visual representation of the process, both physical and metaphoric. The female protagonists of these works employ a variety of strategies to question and challenge discourses that act to discriminate against them because of their gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. The result is a rich body of narratives that offer insights about experiences in Latin America, Spain, and among Latinas in the United States. While there have been a great number of critical studies in relation to the representation of emigrants in fiction, especially about those migrating from Mexico, and neighboring countries, to the USA, the focus of the studies has been primarily on the political and sociological repercussions in both the countries and their protagonists, taking the position of the outsider looking in, and not the perspective of the individuals experiencing, living, and constructing the migration movements. We are accepting proposals that aim to offer convincing links between the women, as active insiders, and their different locations in the Hispanic world as they make use of their own migration narratives to transcend stereotypical assumptions about their experiences as migrants, and to employ them as a breeding ground for the formation of their identities.
